Will was born in Bishopville and attended Robert E. Lee Academy from kindergarten through his graduation in 1980. He graduated Wofford College in 1984 with a B.A. degree in Accounting. He is a certified public accountant and a partner in the firm, Moore, Beauston and Woodham, LLC in Hartsville, S.C.

Will is married to Katherine Warr Woodham and has two sons, Will Woodham, a student at the University of South Carolina and Conner Woodham, a freshman at Robert E. Lee.
