Cavalier Summer Reading:

Summer of 2009

Choose one of the books from your assigned literature class for next year.  It is your  responsibility to obtain a copy of the book you choose  to read.  It is suggested that you purchase the book early so that you have it in plenty of time.  You can make any notes in the margin or highlight material if you wish, or you can make traditional notes as you read. 

Summer reading requirements, book lists and additional forms with work to be completed by the first day of school are available in the office.

1st grade-Junie B. Jones, First Grader at Last by Barbara Parks. If your child has already read this book you may choose another Junie B. Jones First Grader book. Book report forms were given out to your child, additional forms are available in the office.

2nd grade-Your child will need to read an age-appropriate chapter book of his/her choice. Magic Tree House, Cam Jansen and Junie B. Jones are a few that second graders enjoy. A book report form was given to your child , additional forms and book lists are available in the office.

3rd grade-How to Be Cool in the Third Grade by Betsy Duffey. You will be required to take the AR test upon returning to school. Be prepared to discuss book.

4th grade-Required to read 2 books:
