Bert Cousar
Bert is a life-long resident of Lee County. She was married to the late Richard F. Cousar who was owner and operator of Cousar & Associate Real Estate. She has two daughters, Jane Elizabeth Cousar-Harrington, a 1992 graduate of REL, and Mary Katherine Cousar, who also graduated from REL in 1998. She also has twin granddaughters, Amber Nicole and Brooke Taylor Harrington who now attend REL.
Bert has been employed at Robert E. Lee Academy going on 23 years. Fourteen of those years directing the K3 program, five years in K5, returning to K3 for three years and also two years assisting in the library. At present, she is a full-time library assistant. In the fall of 2006, she attended the SCISA Library Workshop.
Bert is a graduate of Bishopville High School. She has attended courses and workshops at the University of South Carolina, Central Carolina Community College, and First Steps Program.
She is a member of the Bishopville Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies are spending quality time with her granddaughters, reading, listening to beach music, shagging and occasionally playing golf.
