Elizabeth
McCutchen Simon, a graduate of Winthrop College, with a masters' degree in
special education has completed her thirty-sixth year of teaching. Before
joining the Robert E. Lee faculty in 1999 as the school librarian, Liz taught
journalism at Lugoff Elgin High School. While there, Liz helped fundraise over
$250,000 for school and charity projects through soap star events. Liz is
co-chair of REL’s successful Christmas auction and has helped the school
fundraise over $70,000. Liz currently lives in Lugoff with her husband Billy.
They are the parents of Bo, Belle, and Rhetta and grandparents of Lindsey, Wade,
and Grace. Liz hopes one day to return to live in her hometown of Bishopville.
