Mrs. Bramlett has been the guidance counselor at Robert E. Lee
Academy for six years.  She taught our K3 class for one year and
a third grade class for one year before assuming her present
responsibilities in the guidance office. She has a B.A. degree
in Psychology from Columbia College and has a certificate in
Secondary Guidance. She handles all aspects of guidance
ranging from K3 and K4 developmental screenings to college
applications. She is a 1979 graduate of Robert E. Lee Academy
and is married to Matt Bramlett who also graduated from REL in
1979. They have three children; Madison, a 2003 graduate of REL
and a junior at the University of South Carolina, Manning, a 2004
graduate of REL  and a sophomore at the University of South Carolina, and Tyner, a junior
at REL. She is a life-long resident of Lee County and is active in the Bishopville Presbyterian Church.

    Scholarship Information/Deadline
    Clemson University Scholarships All accepted entering freshmen and enrolled continuing students will be considered for each University-administered scholarship for which they are eligible. Transfer students must have completed one full-time semester at Clemson University before they will be considered for University scholarships. Students must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens (eligible for federal Title IV aid) to qualify for consideration. Official registrar office records will be consulted to determine major, class, GPR and other selection criteria.

    University of South Carolina The University of South Carolina offers over 500 scholarships each year to the entering freshman class.  In order to be considered for one of these awards, students should be early applicants for admission to the University; we strongly encourage you to apply by no later than November 1st. Students who wish to be considered for the Carolina Scholars, McNair Scholars, and Alumni Scholars awards will need to complete the University Scholarship Application which is available from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as well as most high-school guidance offices in the state. The completed University Scholarship Application to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions must be postmarked by December 1st., both for South Carolina students and for out-of-state students.

    University of South Carolina Thomas L. Stepp Board of Visitors Scholarship The scholarship is named in honor of Thomas L. Stepp, secretary to the USC Board of Trustees and to the Board of Visitors. It provides $1,250 per academic year, renewable for three years as long as the student completes 24 semester hours and has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the end of each academic year. A student may receive this award in addition to a General University Scholarship or departmental scholarship.

    To apply for the award a student must be a high-school senior, be admitted to the upcoming freshman class, and submit a Board of Visitors Scholarship application by March 15.

    South Carolina Chapter--Soil and Water Conservation Society

    Recipient must be a resident of South Carolina at time of application.  Recipient may not receive this scholarship for any two consecutive years.   Scholarship will be for undergraduate studies.  Scholarship is available for fields of conservation/natural resources.  Scholarship is for part time or full time students. (Scholarship amount will not exceed cost of tuition and books)       Criteria for selection includes:   essay, scholarship - Grade point average, financial need, community involvement, career goals

     

    Requirements for application include:   Application must be typed and postmarked by March 15th.  A copy of most recent transcript. An essay of 300 words or less responding to: “The Value of This Scholarship To Me”.  Essay must be typed.  Letters of Recommendation (Maximum of Three)

    SC State Fair Scholarships

    Over the last decade the SC State Fair has returned over $2 million to the community through scholarship endowments and grants to non-profit organizations. Fifty (50) $2,000 scholarships will be offered in 2005

    Elks National Foundation Scholarship The Elks National Foundation provides more than $3.3 million in college scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors. The "Most Valuable Student," Eagle Scout, and Girl Scout Gold Award scholarships are open to any graduating high school senior. Legacy Awards and Emergency Educational Fund Grants are available only to children of Elks. The application process and deadlines vary for each of the programs. All applications, except for the scouting scholarships, must go through a local Elks Lodge before reaching the Elks National Foundation office.

    Darlington County Historical Society Students seeking this award must be Darlington County Residents, planning to major in History.  Students must write a 1,000 word essay on a specified topic.  The deadline is February 28th and applications are available in the guidance office.
    USC College of Engineering and Information Technology Awards are based on SAT scores, class rank, and financial need.  February 15th is the deadline and applications are available in the guidance office or online at www.engr.sc.edu.
    AXA Achievement Scholarship Student must have demonstrated achievement in a job, sport, or extracurricular activity.  Check www.axa_achievement.com for past winners.   The deadline is December 15th.
    Anderson College Leadership Scholarship Program Student must hold a 3.3 GPA in college preparatory classes with an 1100 SAT or 22 ACT score.  Student must be involved in their school, church, or community and hold a leadership position.  The deadline to apply is January 13th.
    SC Sheriffs Association Students wanting to apply will need to write a 1000 word essay, complete an application, and also include a transcript.  Student must attend a college in South Carolina.  There is also a separate scholarship for Children of SC Law Enforcement Officers.  Deadline to apply is February 22nd.
    Kittie M. Fairey Scholarship South Carolina students with a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, 900 on the SAT or 19 on ACT, parents adjusted gross income not exceeding $40,000, and attend an accredited SC college or university may apply.  Deadline is December 1st.
    SC Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship Program This scholarship is available to SC high school seniors with a 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.  Students must also have a competitive or recreational interest in golf and planning to attend an accredited 4-year university in SC.  The deadline to apply is December 1st.
    Columbia College Art Scholarships These funds are available to students who attend Columbia College and will major in Studio Art.
    James F. Byrnes Scholarship These funds are set aside for students with one or both parents deceased.  The student must reside in SC and be a US citizen.  Awards are based on need, the student pursuing a bachelor's degree at an accredited 4-year university, satisfactory academic record and participate in activities with other Byrnes Scholars.  Deadline is February 15th.
    Gardner-Webb Scholarship Students applying to GW must complete a Music Major Scholarship Application and perform well in an audition.
    Dixie Youth Baseball Scholarship These funds are to be awarded to a child who played Dixie Youth Baseball.  Award is based on financial need, scholastic record, and citizenship.  Deadline is March 1st.
    Kohl's Kids Who Care Scholarship

    This program recognizes students, ages 6-18, that have done some kind of community service. Applications will be accepted through March 15, 2008. Anyone can nominate a deserving student by visiting www.kohlskidswhocare.com. Students can win prizes ranging from $50.00 gift cards to $5,000.00 scholarships. Official rules are available at this website or at any Kohl’s customer service desk.

    SC Law Enforcement Officers' Association

    Four awards will be presented totaling $10,000. (One-$5,000, Two - $2,000, One $1,000) One of the $2,000 will be presented to the child of an SCLEOA member. The application and essay must be postmarked by Friday, February 15th. Contact the guidance office for more information about the essay.
