B-Team Cheerleaders
Donate Books

The 2007-2008 B-Team Cheerleaders worked hard all year.  They raised school spirit and cheered on their favorite Cavaliers!  They made an impression on the fans but they wanted to leave a lasting memory with the school, so with the help of Burry Book Store in Hartsville, they were able to purchase 29 books with the money they had raised throughout the year.
Back row, from left: Madison Diggs, Savage Watson, Emily Odom, Sponsor Kim Odom, Jeanna Anne Burrows, Emily Lavender, Rachel Kelley, Sponsor Quinetta Buterbaugh, Chace Buterbaugh, and Libby Corbett.  Middle row, from left: Bailee Beasley, Librarian Assistant Bert Cousar, and Librarian Liz Simon.  Front row, from left: Chelsea Stevens, Heylan Anderson, Courtney Conyers, Erin Knight, Kristin Manuel, and Danielle Cottingham.

Thank you, Coach Griggs, for being such a good sport!

Miss Lacey Drawers, AKA Coach Darren Griggs, was awarded Third Runner-up at the Lee County Relay For Life's Womanless Beauty Pageant on March 29th.  He was also voted by his fellow contestants as the Most Likely To Succeed (As a Woman).  There were approximately 400 people in attendance and around $4,000 was raised.

WE RECYCLE

Miss Rizzo's 3rd Grade's Bulletin Board

REL participates in a number of Recycling projects to take care of our earth and reduce the amount of trash that is put into our landfill.  Our students recycle aluminum, plastics, and white paper.  We also participate in Funding Factory's inkjet cartridge, laser cartridge, and cell phone recycling programs.  We earn points or cash that we use to purchase items for the school.  In the past we have purchased digital cameras, scanners, die-cuts, and PE equipment. Parents and businesses brought empty cartridges and old cell phones for us to send to Funding Factory. We are still accepting these items so please feel free to bring them to us!
Most recently, we are participating in Elmer's Glue recycling.  Mrs. Raley is heading up this program and we are excited to get it underway.  If you'd like to help, just bring us your empty glue stick containers or glue bottles and we will do the rest!

Thank you for helping raise $679.33 at the Volleyball Challenge! A special thanks goes to the players, spectators, Mrs. Chris, Mrs. Jackson, and Mrs. Bramlett!

Privette Awarded Honorable Mention Grant

Britton Privette, an REL Senior and President of the Environmental Awareness Club, entered into the Champions of the Environment Min-Grant competition through DHEC in order to educate our students and begin a program to purchase a cardboard/plastics bailer.   He was awarded an Honorable Mention Grant of $250.  Congratulations, Britton and the EAC.
